Summer Assistant Program Manager

Job Summary: 

The Assistant Program Manager supports the Program Manager in delivering a high-quality summer learning program, contributes to program administration and site leadership, and helps cultivate a positive site culture by leading and modeling best practices for staff and scholars.

Job Responsibilities: 

Program Preparation

  • Support scholar enrollment efforts, including family follow-ups, completion of required compliance  documentation and coordination of parent orientations. 
  • Assist the Program Manager in planning and facilitating the parent meetings needed to achieve your enrollment  goal.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to plan exciting and age-appropriate Friday experiences for our scholars  to include a college campus visit, a community service project, field trips, and a closing celebration.
  • Oversee site facilities to ensure spaces are clean, safe and fully prepared for daily program operations. 

Program Launch

  • Attend all required training to build a strong understanding of the role, program design, and performance  expectations.
  • Support a successful program launch by inventorying curriculum and required supplies as they arrive on site and  ensuring materials are organized and ready for use.
  • Coordinate and administer pre- and post-assessments, quizzes, and surveys, and support accurate data  collection to achieve a 100% response rate.

Program Implementation and Oversight

  • Develop and coordinate transportation plans, including bus routes, designated stops, and assignment of bus  monitors
  • Provide support in supervising the summer teaching team to ensure high quality academics aligned with the SA  schedule are being executed along with engaging, fun enrichment courses in the afternoon.
  • Supervise Teacher Assistants (TAs), facilitating weekly staff meetings, providing guidance, training and  redirection as needed to ensure they successfully execute their position responsibilities.
  • Support the planning and execution of parent–teacher conference night and staff appreciation initiatives for  teachers and teacher assistants.
  • Assist with the coordination and on-site execution of all field trips, guest speakers, and community service  projects.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of scholar progress reports at the program midpoint and during the  final week.
  • Monitor classroom operations and the use of instructional materials to ensure adequate supplies and curriculum  are available throughout the program.

Program Wrap Up

  • Provide logistical support for the closing ceremony
  • Inventory and pack supplies and curriculum for future use.
  • Assist in ensuring all data is submitted to SA Operations as required – including completed parent, staff and  scholar surveys and staff evaluations.
  • Assist in the close out of the program and program site

Experience and Education Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, master’s in school administration preferred. 
  • Teaching Certification required
  • Proven experience in leadership capacityexperience supporting teams through staff supervision and coaching 
  • Strong commitment to student success
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience managing family communications and parent engagement
